Everything you need to know about verifying your US business

General Questions

What is Verified.us.com?

Verified.us.com is a business verification service that confirms US-based companies have a legitimate physical presence, proper legal registration, and comply with US regulations. We help consumers identify trustworthy businesses and help legitimate companies stand out from fraudulent competitors.

Why do I need to be verified?

In today's digital landscape, anyone can create a professional-looking website. Verification proves to your customers that:

  • You're a real business with a physical US location
  • You're legally registered and compliant
  • You're accountable and transparent
  • You're not a dropshipper or offshore operation

Who can get verified?

Any legally registered business with a physical presence in the United States can apply. This includes LLCs, Corporations, Sole Proprietorships, and Partnerships. You must have legitimate incorporation documents, a physical US address (not a PO Box or mail forwarding service), and operational contact methods.

Verification Process

How long does verification take?

Typically 7-14 business days from application to approval. The timeline includes document review (1-2 days), our multi-layered verification process including physical mail delivery (5-10 days), and final approval (1-2 days). Timeline may vary based on documentation completeness and USPS delivery times.

What documents do I need to submit?

You'll need to provide:

  • Articles of Incorporation or Organization
  • Operating Agreement or Bylaws
  • IRS EIN Confirmation Letter
  • Business licenses and permits (if applicable)
  • Proof of physical address (utility bill, lease agreement)

Will I receive phone calls during verification?

Yes. We conduct unscheduled phone calls at random times to verify your business operates from the stated address. This helps us detect call forwarding to offshore operations. Be prepared to answer questions about your business and confirm authorized representatives.

What if I use a virtual office or coworking space?

Coworking spaces with a physical office assignment may qualify, but pure virtual offices and mail forwarding services do not. You must be able to receive physical mail at the location and have actual operational presence there. We verify against databases of known virtual office providers.

Pricing & Payments

How much does verification cost?

Initial verification is $499 (one-time fee) which includes your first year. Annual renewal is $249/year and includes full re-verification and ongoing monitoring. No hidden fees, no setup charges.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept all major credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover) and ACH bank transfers for US businesses.

Is the verification fee refundable?

No. The $499 fee covers extensive manual work including document review, database lookups, phone calls, physical mail, and fraud detection analysis. However, if you're a legitimate US business with proper documentation, you should have no trouble passing verification.

After Verification

What do I get when verified?

Once verified, you receive:

  • Official verification badge for your website
  • Public verification page with your business credentials
  • Listing in our searchable verified business database
  • Marketing materials and badge files
  • Quarterly compliance monitoring

How do I display the verification badge?

We provide you with badge HTML code, image files, and implementation instructions. Simply copy and paste the code into your website. The badge links to your public verification page on our site, allowing customers to confirm your verified status.

What happens if I don't renew?

Your verification badge will be deactivated and removed from our public database. Your listing will show as "expired" and the badge on your website will no longer function. To regain verified status, you'll need to go through the full verification process again at the $499 rate.

Can my verification be revoked?

Yes. We continuously monitor verified businesses. Verification can be immediately revoked for fraudulent activity, business closure, loss of good standing, failure to maintain US presence, or customer complaints indicating deceptive practices. You'll be notified before revocation except in cases of fraud.

Technical Questions

Can I verify multiple business locations?

Each physical location requires separate verification since we verify the physical presence at each address. Contact us for volume pricing if you have 5+ locations to verify.

What if my business information changes?

Contact us immediately if you change your business address, legal name, or ownership structure. These changes may require re-verification. Minor changes (phone number, email) can be updated through your dashboard.

Is my business information kept private?

Your public verification page displays business name, location (city/state), verification date, and verification status. Detailed documentation, financial information, and personal details remain private. Consumers can verify you're legitimate without exposing sensitive data.
